My dad had badgered me into promising to email him everyday so he will know I haven't kidnapped by human traffickers or something. When I will post about Panama while im down there.
I also look forward to hearing about your experiences. Don't forget to bring your Dad back a Panama Hat!
Spent last night in Panama City. Bustling city. Nice though. I ate at a nice restaurant. Cost $40 for a night at Hotel Milan. Took a flight to Bocas del Tora at 6:30 this morning. I will be helping turn vacant lots into gardens. Will be taking Spanish lessons in the evenings. Will also be learning by immersion method. Will post more later, just got here.
May I ask what you had at the restaurant, if you recall? Was it local cuisine? I'm not really familiar with food in that area.
Stay safe over there. Panama City can shift from very beautiful to super sketchy by simply crossing the street.
im doing an apprenticeship, volunteer job. if I decide I want a paying job I will have to go to a lawyer and get a work permit. Don't know if I will because wages are low here. and it cost anywhere between 1 and $2k for legal fees and permit.
It'd be great to hear about your experiences Anjelica, it's somewhere I've never been I hope you have a great time there, post some photos up too, if you get chance
here in Bocas there is a diverse community. For example there are Thai, Indian, Indonesian restaurants. I guess I was expecting it to be all Spanish. Been doing some digging and planting. getting my hands dirty.
