The pliers could be handy for some dental work on the bad guys. I may switch! I dont think of my knife as the main line of defence, just another layer. I would just hate to find myself in that instance where the knife fit the need, but I did not have it. The laws sound pretty tuff for you guys over there. I think under 3.5" for the blade is okay in the US. not sure about the rules on locking blades. Its an old saying but I would rather be judged by 12,(in the court room) than carried by 6! (At the grave):woo:
A friend told me that if the blade of your knife, folding locking or fixed, was longer than your hand is wide at the widest part, dont carry it around town.
Why is it not necessary? Why is it not a good idea? I often carry a Cold Steel Voyager (4 inch). I carried a Spyderco Endura until the clip broke off in a freak occurrence. I like them both very much. I use my Voyager to open letters and packages and let air out of my tires when I overinflate them at the gas station, so that if and when I am asked by a judge or policeman what I use it for, I can honestly say that I use it to open letters and packages and let air out of my tires.
