If he was using a shinken, he'd have lost his fingers in a very short time. Seems to be a cull of various koryu. Look at the rest of this guy's channel, he tries to copy Komagawa Kaishin-ryu kenjutsu techniques. One of the ryuha taught at Kuroda Tetsuzan's Shinbukan dojo. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXu4oehu304"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXu4oehu304[/ame] See something familiar? The shidachi also has some "old habits" ingrained, because he brings the mine of his bokuto to his shoulder before assuming that high hasso no kamae.
This is a bit of a necro, but... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9aPfzVcqdo"]Niten Tachi Seiho - YouTube[/ame] had to share this somewhere. I've been looking at HNIR for a while now and came across this one. One of these things is not like the other... Doesn't look like HNIR, doesn't look like NIR either. Just looks... wrong. I understand there are several practitioners of HNIR here, was wondering what people thought. Me, I'm not impressed at all.
It is technically HNIR kenjutsu, but bears little resemblance to how it is practiced by the ryu, both in technique and delivery.
That's the impression I got. Then again, my experience in the system is limited, so your opinion is appreciated.
Since this thread has been necroed..... :evil: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a18eDiA0HAk"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a18eDiA0HAk[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dTk4BoMIvk"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dTk4BoMIvk[/ame] Let the carnage commence!
And it gets better! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ah1Jqvc1W8"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ah1Jqvc1W8[/ame] Steal aikido much?
Thanks for the laugh Steve! The little of that that I managed to get through was laughably inept. It just amazes me that with all of the information available on the internet almost instantaneously, people would still give folks like that money. I guess it's better for them than sitting around watching reality TV though.
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgDZDpu8aP8&feature=related"]Katori Shinto Ryu omote-no-tachi - YouTube[/ame] I feel so good after watching this.
Oh wow. There are allot of bad videos of the omote no tachi out there (and I've watched way too many of them), but that one takes the cake for crappy distancing.
As kogusoku said, it gets better... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9kxE38gkOE"]Katori Shinto Ryu omote-no-iai - YouTube[/ame]!
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQM2i0d-cJU"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQM2i0d-cJU[/ame] :bang:
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYzH94NeFm4"]Better than most fakes out there, but still fake.[/ame] Anyone with experience in nihongo will regonise that the "mokuroku" was not written by a Japanese. There is no flow in the kanji. There is very little combative viability to the kenjutsu techniques in this. It seems like they have raided the nihon no kobudo DVD section from BAB and ripped off every technique, adapted it and performed it without any understanding of maai, hyōshi or chōshi.
Just when you think it couldn't get any worse..... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4C2dl4vZoE"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4C2dl4vZoE[/ame]
Please for the love of all that is good in life .... STOP. That last video is so painful it making me bleed from my eyes. The Bear.
Er, Steve? I'm sure you meant "just when you HOPED it couldn't get any worse....", yeah? I mean, we all knew that it could get worse, we just hoped that, well, we were wrong... godsdammit.
No, you weren't wrong, you were DEAD wrong. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXOVVn6prrI"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXOVVn6prrI[/ame]
I'm with the bear, that last one was beyond laughable and into the realm of painful. You need a new hobby Steve!
