Here is a link I found with some really interesting knife defense information, not sure if it has been posted in the forum before: http://www.realfighting.com/0102/edgedwea.htm I have found it difficult to get any good answers in the forum other than very simple ones, and really all I wanted was some data and information. This site actually uses gathered information and explains the reasoning behind the conclusions rather than stating simple answers to the questions you may have about knife defense (and attack).
There is some great information on that page as far as statistics. All of which back up previously made assertions like: - If your facing someone with experience (or even without) you probably won't see the knife coming Oh and my favorite: Similar answer, huh? Additionally, I think you missed some of the excellent discussions that have gone regarding knife defense, like: Knife Defense Essays http://www.martialartsplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9014 Live Blade Training http://www.martialartsplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21276 Basic Disarm http://www.martialartsplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17543 Knife Defense in Ju Jitsu http://www.martialartsplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4328 If someone with a knife attempted to mug you what would you do? http://www.martialartsplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16477 Search, it's a beautiful thing! Thanks for sharing the link and good luck with your test. - Matt
