Hi guys, Im training regularly with my sensei, and while Im still a white belt, Im really hoping to take this further and maybe look into competing in open tournaments when i get chance (currently finishing uni, got another few months of that to do first) so Im wondering, is there usually a prerequisite of rank in tournaments and such?

Nah, everybody can compete and find someone of similar age/weight/experience. You'd be placed in adult white belt division and your weight class.

    Good luck :)

No prerequisite rank, just ask your coach if your safe to compete, and Learn the rules before you go.

Do a competition through your club. You will not regret it!
