    So which would you say his higher, your thesis word count or your MAP word count for the same period?

    Also congratulations, the amount of work in a PHD is boggling to me and I have a great deal of respect for anyone that has the discipline to see it through!

    Thanks again all!

    Not sure really, I'm looking at various possibilities and applying for things that interest me. I like the hands-on side of research, so ideally a job with a good practical/fieldwork element.

    If we compare word count, the thesis probably wins (~100,000 words), however, if we compare time spent on each, then I suspect MAP might just edge the win... :D
