    I need some serious help/sympathy.

I attended a staff party last night. :) It consisted of a BBQ, free drink (loads of the stuff :D ) and me getting Soooooo drunk that i threw my boss to the floor and stood over him whilst i told him exactly what i thought of him. What on earth do i do now. I'm currently sitting at work with a serious hangover. The boss comes in at 1500hrs this afternoon!! Help.....

An apology would be a good start, unless you don't want the job anymore. Did he deserve to be thrown to the ground and yelled at? If so, get a new job. If not, apologize and make sure he understands that you do appreciate the job and just had a lapse of reason. Whatever you do, don't try to shirk responsibility. They were your actions, regardless of how drunk you were, so take account for them. If I was your boss (theoretically speaking since I don't know you), owning up to it would show a lot of character, and would most likely preempt me from the joy I would have had in canning you.

    Best of luck,

Tell him he was easy to throw and needs to come training with you to toughen up!

At least you made it in to work.

Means he doesn't have to telephone you to tell you the consequences.

There's hope for you: I once told my ex-boss that if I ever saw him again, I'd rip his trachea out and hang him from the doorframe by it before storming out. A week later I got a phone call begging me to come back and apologising to me for what he said to provoke me! :woo: That was in a supermarket though, so rules of proper jobs are probably different.
You could always apologise and see how that affects the situation, that's probably the best course of action

I'd demand a pay raise. Else he gets more of the same. But you might also want to consider other career opertunities.

Serves you right if you get sacked.

    Learn to control yourself.

I tend to agree. Not to be mean or anything, but if nothing else you can learn from this experience how important it is to have a measure of self-control in professional situations.

Well a lot of things come to mind, anger management classes, Alky rehab, updating your resume, buy HIM a quart of scotch, heck if he was drunk, he might not remember.....

I'm guessing he was escorted from the premises and needs to get home before gaining access to the 'net...

If you like your job, just deny all knowledge of it, after all you were very drunk weren't you (nudge nudge wink wink).

But you need to learn some self control, even when you're totally plastered.

He may have been very drunk, but maybe the others weren't!

Lesson to be learned -- getting drunk at work-related events is a very, very bad idea!

Regulate your drug use, especailly at a place where a person of rank will be.

If you were thrown down by a worker of yours in a drunken rage and verbally abused, how do you think you'd feel? A throw or a punch, does it matter which, you violated his personal space and in front of others. Mad disrespect.
