Although most noted for his recent work in Lord of the Rings, Howard Shore must be one of the best composers to grace the world of film. Noted works include The Fly Big Philadeplhia Silence of the Lambs Seven The Score Naked Lunch Dogma Gangs of New York Analyse This Panic Room The Aviator History of Violence This list is not exhastive but gives a good idea of the quality of recordings he is behind. My personal favourite is the music for Naked Lunch. the crazy imporivsed jazz suited a rather off-beat remake of a William Borough novel down to the ground!
Yeah he's good, second only to John Williams, who is a movie music god imo Just listen to 'Duel of the fates' and you'll know what I mean.
