Hip strength/flexibility...

Today I was doing some Thai kicks for the first time in a while. I stretched somewhat good today, but not as much as I should have. While kicking high (about shoulder to head height) on the bag and noticed some pain in my right hip but kept kicking and as soon as I came back down, had a pretty intense pain in the same hip.

I'm guessing it was because I haven't stretched enough, started kicking the bag full power right off the bat, and probably because I haven't worked on kicks in a while.

I know I need to stretch a lot more and chill on going full power right from the start but does anyone have any clue what else could be causing this? Also, what are some good hip stretches and ways I can strengthen my hips to prevent future injuries?

It could not only be accountable to stretching

It could also be that of doing the drill too long-overdoing it

It could be a lack of hydration/mineral/vitamin

It could be that perhaps you should also consult a physician
