I am relatively new to the martial arts. A short time in Shotokan karate (YMCA style) as a kid, and a couple of years off boxing more recently, on and off until my gym had to close down. Work takes up most of my time these days, but I thought since I can't make it into classes much right now, an online forum would be a good alternative until something opens up. Martial Arts Planet has some very interesting threads and I can't contribute all that much, but I'm interested in reading your stories. Cheers -g

Thank you for the warm welcomes. Grond is a really old net handle of mine, from back when the net had no graphics. I am a Lord of the Rings fan for many, many years. Grond the Hammer though, not Grond the Ram.
Grond the hammer of Morgoth? Ok, I am really doubly impressed by your name! Welcome fellow Tolkien geek! You are more familiar with the Silmarillion than I. I have only read that one 3 or 4 times, and not recently.
