I have been learning nunchaku for a while now and i'm moving onto the next level of training with a specialised nunchaku (so-setsu kon, san-setsu kon) I have heard about half size nunchaku and am interested as they are much smaller than a normal nunchaku (for all the people saying nunchaku are easy to carry around...it really isnt they are alot bigger than you think) But being half-size the nunchaku is no longer circular to grip onto, does anyone know if han-kei nunchuks are uncomfortable or un-efficient? also is there anywhere I could purchase one? I've looked everywhere!
You may find something in here that will interest you: http://www.factbites.com/topics/Nunchaku and here may be some more: http://nunchaku.one.pl/en/?s=budowa from that site a possible list of places that you may be able to purchase them at: http://www.sakura-0.com/ http://www.allblackbelt.com/ http://www.superfoots.com/nunchaku.html http://store.yahoo.com/asuperbuy/nunchakus.html http://www.dragonsupply.com/ma/nunchaku.htm http://mwmas.com/nunchaku.htm http://www.themeware-ipagebuilder.com/ http://www.martialmart.com/karatemart1/ http://www.martialartssupply.com/main13.cfm http://www.thesteelsource.com/html/maequip.htm http://www.martialartsgear.com/weapons/chucks/chucks.htm http://www.amas.net/weapon.cfm http://www.allblackbelt.com/wnunchakus.html http://www.tansmartialartssupplier.com.au/ I am not sure how your craftsmanship skills are or what the laws are in your area but there from what your describing it sounds as if you would easily be able to modify a pair of full length Nunchuku to fit your needs. thanks jab, that was really useful, I ended up buying some telescopic steel chukus from martialartssupply, just as small as the han-kei but less hard to find, a bit too heavy at first but have adjusted to it!
