For PRIDE's 2005 tournament, ther were a few changes. Kevin Randleman who is back down to 204, will be in. Vitor Belfort is another candidate as is Alistair Overeem.

So just imagine, Vitor VS Wanderlei, maybe even Igor VS Randleman. :D

Excellent! :D I really hope Vitor can get his head in the game and keep it there to fight Silva - even though he's arguably the most inconsistent fighter in MMA, I'm a big fan of his and firmly believe when he's on, he can take anyone, even Silva again. I'm really excited about both Pride GP's this year, they're both shaping up to be great

Not so long ago, DSE mentioned that they'd like to organise a Vitor vs Silva 2 fight.

And no doubt they'll organise another Silva vs Sakuraba fight as it appears the Japanese crowed really want to see it happen.

might as well not start my own thread for this...

I havent seen much of any of the mentioned fighters, but I know who they are. Will this event be worth paying for?

who do you think will win the fights mentioned above? why?

    also

Couture or Lidell? whos taking it? why?

Well yea it'll be worth payin for, I guess I'm more biased toward PRIDE, I just cant stand the way UFC guys mouth off to each other any more. Their trash talking is more exciting than their fights. That's why I love it when they fight the PRIDE guys.

I've never seen a full ufc event, but I ordered Pride's "Fists of Fire" a little while ago and really enjoyed it.

I don't hold too much hope in Vitor...

He's on Big Brother.. if it's not that, his sister is missing.. not his sister, his brother is missing... if it's none of them, his head isn't in the game... if his head is in the game, it's his cardio letting him down.

Pride is definatly the better event between the two. Much better fighters, and the crowd are superb.

Vitor Belfort will not be fighting in Pride; it seems he's just signed a new contract with UFC. Not to mention he's now left Brazilian Top Team for a 2nd time! :(

I'm really looking forward to the Igor vs Kondo match though! It's going to be a toughy, but my money's on Kondo :D

    KONDO????????

Nah Igor round 2 I think or even end of round 1 due to lots of heavy leather strikes!!

Quite an Igor fan aren't you Sonshu :D

I'd much rather Kondo win, he's a good kid with some excellent skills.

I'd rather see Igor take it from Kondo - I'm pulling for a Silva/ Vovchenchyn final. Silva would probably win, but what a slugfest that would be :D

Thats the great thing with Igor :) He's always prepared to brawl it out :D

He's got some serious heavy hands though; it's quite scarey the amount of power he generates in a swing!

Yeah best example of it is early Igor.

Where he beats down 350 lbs 6'8 Paul Varlens!

And he does beat him down

Alright, well it seems that Vitor will be participating in the upcomming Pride MiddleweightGP; I presume the change comes since he has split up with Brazilian Top Team?

But anyway, these are the officially confirmed fighters by DSE:

    Vanderlei Silva
    Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua
    Igor Vovchanchyn
    Vitor Belfort
    Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson
    Kevin Randleman
    Rogerio 'Minotoro' Nogueira
    Dan Henderson
    Alistair Overeem
    Kazushi Sakuraba
    Hidehiko Yoshida
    Yuki Kondo
    Kazuhiro Nakamura
    Youn Dong Sik

It's looking like an excellent line up to me :D
