Genki Sudo vs Royce Gracie

Genki is the most bizarre hybrid martial artist around right now, BJJ, karate, some weird crane-looking stuff... Sudo is a great striker (he ranked highly in K-1 MAX) and, if the Sakuraba fight's anything to go by, Royce doesn't do well with unconventional fighters, which Genki certainly is. I'm picking Sudo by spinning backfist KO (possibly a double. Has anyone else seen that fight?)

So my idea of mixing BJJ, MT, and some other MMA in a very odd way, would make me the untimate fighter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.................maybe not. But isn't Royce gracie lik one of the main guys of BJJ? Shouldn't he like beat everyone's ass with BJJ?(including sudo's)

You obviously haven't seen Genki Sudo fight then... he is an extremely good submission fighter. Besides, Royce is getting on abit now and isn't such the thunder storm he used to be...

20 of her majestys pounds sterling says that the two of themntogether cant beat me in an Aikido rules fight.

I'll put a tenner on myself to beat one of them in a TKD rules fight as well (They would be disqualified for punching me in the face repeatedly or catching my kicking leg).

Fiver says I can beat them if I get to use a Katanna and they are unarmed.

Fifty quid says Bruce Lee would beat either of them.

I was unaware aikido had competitions...what are the rules? :D If it has anything to do with being compliant, I'm sure they'd lose lol. As for Bruce Lee, I don't doubt that he was a great fighter, but even in his time he hadn't made any great accomplishments in combat sports, challenge matches, etc. and by today's standards I don't think he would fair very well.

I'd take that wager...$5k says he can. :D

I have a sneaking suspicion that this guy's not going to be good for the money... That's a shame, because making that bet would be easier than working for 5k

I was considering saying something along those lines; but feared starting a style vs style, and a bruce lee debate lol :D

Hey, how can you say that when you don't even know me? :) I also like to debate; but i don't like to debate over things that have been appearing on the forum for many many years.

Aikido doesnt have any competitions (or at least not my style) hence why I am rather confident that the two of them together couldnt beat me in one :D

Also seeing as Bruce Lee is no longer with us the chances of me ever loosing money on that wager is rather small as well, I think you should see where I am coming from now :D

TKD rules fight, the chances of either of the pair managing to stick to something as contrived as rules or be comfortable wearing protective body armour are pretty slim.

Finally they both seem like sensible enough people (MMA people usually are) so I very much doubt they would agree to fight unarmed against someone with a sword, especially if they knew he had some trainning in it!

Aha! but then you make the mistake my friend :)

Genki sudo and Royce Gracie are in the ring, awaiting the appearence of Bruce Lee; yet he fails to show. They beat him by default...

Now hand me your money!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Hang on, does this mean that I can challenge Bruce Lee to a fight then when he fails to show claim that I have beaten Bruce Lee in a NHB match?

Awesome! I hereby challenge Bruce Lee to a NHB fight. Right he hasnt appeared, I now declare myself the winner!! Superb stuff! I'm off to change my sig! That was more than worth the money lost on the bet...

   what the hell? This guy is filled with traditional fighting styles, is he any good? I mean, you guys seem confident hell kick gracies ass, but come on! Old Royce is getting old.

Is he an 'above average' ufc fighter?

EDIT: WHen i say UFC i also mean PRIDE, its essentially the same thing.
