I've been training in martial arts for four years now and have always done stretching before and after training, however my flexibility is poor. Firstly I want to be able to head kick, I fought a few weeks back and my opponent kept having a low guard and a head kick would've been perfect but I can't do them, also more embarrassingly I can't touch my toes when stretching, as I reach down the back of my knees begin to tighten and the further I go the more I struggle to keep my legs straight and eventually they bend. Hoping someone knows any way to correct these, would be much appreciated

to touch your toes try to bounche down with your body and when low enough hold your hands on your foot.
i couldnt even touch my toes before but now i can almost do flat handed on floor with little bounching

Bouncing into stretches is ballistic stretching and isn't recommended.

It's okay if you're an experienced athlete and know your limitations, otherwise avoid bouncing.
