after being interested in muay thai for awhile, i want to start incorporating muay thai training into my usual regime. i was just curious if anyone knew any good stretches for helping with my knee strikes, since when i do a high sternum knee strike, i feel some tension on top of my quad, right near the hip area, so any help in that would be much appreciated :)

Check out the "sticky" for stretching in the MAP H&F archives ;)

Hip flexor stretches are probably what you need.

And do some dynamic leg swings too before each workout. Forwards, backwards and side to side.

Stretch the rest of the leg muscles too though, you don't want any imbalances. However don;t do any static stretches before your workout, only dynamic.

You'll also find that your flexibility will increase over time with training
