    First Muay Thai session tonight.

I gained one broken toe and a neck that no longer works. Oh, and the DOMS I know I am going to experience tomorrow has me seriously considering suicide. My note will simply read 'This was preferable to the alternative'.

I have to stop typing now because I am struggling to keep my head in a neutral position.

Oh - it was quite cool. If I survive and I can walk, I will go again.

    welcome to the club!

For me the day after is usually ok, the second day is the real killer! Hamstrings so frigging tight you could play a tune on them!

It was an induction session at a university club (so it was aimed at beginners)

Warmup was fairly standard - dynamic stretches and burpees mainly

Then they split into three groups - striking, clinching and conditioning

Clinching (where I gained my broken toe and my malfunctioning neck) was pretty basic stuff, and the striking was just basics of cross, jab and round kick with pads, but the conditioning 45 minutes was a serious beasting.

Most university clubs have a tendency to go easy the first couple weeks (until people have paid), but this guy was straight out of the gate. I respect that - although I'm not sure it's a great way to get repeat business.

It was really good. I needed a change and this seems to fit the bill.
