hey im looking to have my first fight in about 3 weeks im nervous i think thats a good thing because it means im not cocky and going to underestimate my opponent. im trying to learn to control my temperament so i stay focused before and during the fight have stopped drinking this month to prepare for the fight as well as from this week till the fight i will train practically everyday. my question is has any one got any tips or advice/words of wisdom they can give me that i can incorporate into my training or into myself or the fight. it would be greatly apretiated, khawp khun/thank you.
I've just posted the advertising here for the show. Few people on Map will be there. Dougbug being one of them.

Save the haymakers till you can land them as well!!! I'll be there as Moi said, beer in hand as I'm not allowed to buy pepsi
yeh im tryin to he's a good teacher, worked us pretty hard today haha but i enjoyed it loads, i guess its just because its my first fight i dont know what to expect but all i can do is train as hard as i can focus, keep composed and like they say when ur in school ha just do my best and thats all that matters haha
1. You will get hit, and it may hurt 2. At least something will be either bloody or bruised. If your lucky a bit of both Now thats over with all you can do is relax and enjoy it. I get my fighters once they are in the ring to just look around and take one big deep breath in and out helps with the butterflies. Once it begins you'll be ok, just look for an opening and exploit try not to hit too much thin air either, relax and enjoy!
haha haymakers!!! ill try keep it simple and effective n remember what russ teaches me and go for it ha! i've been reading 'tao of jeet kune do' by bruce lee and its got some interesting things in their on the mental approach to fighting eg. being confident in your decisions and making them instantly etc its a good book if you haven't read it. russ all ways tries to push us to make our decisions quickly im gettin better but still i know i can do more, ill make the fight as good as i can on my part any way! which fight are you looking forward to the most any particular person you think will be a highlight?
cheers for your comments i appreciate it, its made me feel more comfortable coz i tend to be a bit of an anxious person haha, but hey on the night ill be more ready than now and its show-time :fight1: like u said relax and enjoy!
I read it as well and i fully agree, it has some great stuff regarding a good mental approach for fighting. The zen chapter is actually the one that stuck with me the most and the one i feel taught me a great deal.
trust your every move, free your mind from the crowd and fight, express yourself, and of course...good cardio goes a long way. mentally especially. good luck
Sucks when that happens. I had to pull out of my last fight because I messed up my back doing dl 2 weeks before my fight. All the training for nothing.
