Good question asked...but..I would have to say...it all depends on many factors... For example, how proficient is the practitioner? what weapons have you had experience in using before? your cultural influences, etc... I personally love many many chinese weapons... however I probably enjoy watching non-traditional weapons in movies, such as a scooter in 'Kiss of the Dragon' (Jet Li) or a common jacket in 'Rumble in the Bronx' (Jackie Chan). In traditional weapons...I think the staff can be quite exhilerating to watch, but...many other weapons are more enjoyable to me. I like the staff, but spear much more (even though they're similar), ropes, whips and other flexible weapons, sais and double straight swords, double broadswords and double hook swords (can't wait to learn them).
Nunchacku are great to watch, along with three-sectional-staff (provided you know what you are doing - I don't!) But in terms of technical preference, you can't beat tonfa.
My favourite weapons to use are 3-sectional staff and nunchuks i always tend to have nunchuks with me so if i have time i can practise with them i sometimes take my 3 sectional staff out if i go travelling with my friends aswell
ive just started to learn the nunchaku(on my own) , luckily there foam, if they were wood i think i would have brain damage by now.
nunchaku8587 i live in horsham well next to it in a village called broadbridge heath in west sussex which is on the a2081 from guildford or the a24
Training with wooden weapons is better - you get used to the weight, and learn quicker not to hit yourself!
and if u are totaly useless then u get wiped out quicker!! a hard hat is helpful and remembering not to drop them on your toes is better@!
