We use English names for techniques in my Jujitsu which is good in it's way but I often look up the Japanese names for them afterwards just for completeness. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find the one we call a "falcon lock". It's like a figure four with guys forearm above his shoulder and your hand on his wrist while the other hand comes up behind his shoulder and "through the hole" to grasp your own forearm. We also do what we call a "one handed falcon" although in that case it's the other hand that goes behind the shoulder and sort of grabs the opponents wrist from the back. Anybody know what the Japanese names for these are? Sorry for the poor description.
I feel like falcon lock for an americana is a bit of a waste I might steal it as the new name for what I call a "gerbil wing" which is a step over north-south kimura
Actually not as helpful as I first thought - it seems "ude garami" covers a multitude of sins. Browsing about online I've so far found: soto ude garami uchi ude garami ashi ude garami gyaku ude garami Think this might take me a while to sort through!
Wuss. That's what the elbow to the face is for. I wouldn't try it standing unless they were half unconscious.
Ive seen ura oni kudaki done in light MMA sparring by a BJJ brown belt, the guy was behind him, he tryed a figure 4 standing sakuraba style, the guy lifted his wrist, so the balence was taken backwards via an ura onikudaki style grip, most impressive, and very very low percentage!
