    Interesting article.

    From article:

"Researchers from Tufts University in Boston reported that those who ate a diet rich in omega 3 were 25% less likely to develop AMD.....

Half of the volunteers on the study were additionally given a daily supplement which included antioxidants such as vitamins C and E, and beta-carotene. However, the combination of a diet high in fatty acids and supplements appeared to be counteractive with researchers finding that taking those taking the supplements were 50% more likely to develop the disease....

The study also discovered that eating foods which release sugar slowly into the bloodstream such as wholegrain bread can protect against the condition developing. Authors said that substituting five slices of white bread for wholegrain each day was able to cut the chance of AMD progressing over five years by 8%. "

Fish oil is as close as we have to a silver bullet. Let's face it though, taking a few fish oil caps doesn't replace the ridiculous amount of crap that people consume. This only goes to improve the argument that EVERYONE should be consuming fish oil/oily fish regularly.
