Honest question here. I understand that it takes alot of dedication to go vegetarian and even more to step it up a notch and go vegan. Can these lifestyles of eating really result in "healthier" people at older ages, or is it just their dedication to eating healthy is as great as their dedication to staying fit.

Personally I've made a lifestyle change with my diet, I cook most of my food at this point, but since I don't know any good recipes I can't make anything fancy. Honestly I don't think I could ever give up grilled chicken or lean ground turkey.

What is the point of the thread, though? Is it about what Graham can do, or are you making a correlation to what raw foodists can do? I'm not sure I follow, since you left no description, plus you've posted it before.

I'm someone who follows 80/10/10 and I still wonder why airweaver keeps posting this clip. Do you follow the diet airweaver? What are your capabilities? To me, its good to have a role model, but it all comes down to what you can do.

It is to break the illusion that vegans are pasty, scrawny and lack any strength. Dr D is 57, and been raw vegan for 20+ years.

For the body to work at peak capability, we must supply it with the right fuel. I find uncooked fruits/veg to fill this role. Though all bodies are different, this works best for me. With raw its like minimum effort, maximum reward.

Google is your friend. Loads of recipes out there. Once you've got the different cooking techniques it gets quite interesting.

I can tell by the way you post you train poorly. Good training brings wisdom which you lack. You were the weak kid in school who did anything to be cool im guessing.

    Moi teases because he loves.

Are there people on MAP who really think that? I mean, they may disagree with vegan diets and feel that there are some nutritional deficiencies, but do they really think that all vegans are scrawny and weak?

On another note, Graham is a former gymnast and so has training under his belt that many have not been exposed to. By the same token, one could endorse Jack Lalanne's diet (whatever that was--I actually have no idea what he ate) as he was certainly strong and lived a long life.

Not trying to rain on your parade, airweaver, its just that I've always thought such things were better supported by talking about what one was doing oneself, nutritional angles as well as feats accomplished. Graham himself acknowledges that diet is only one part of the equation when looking at health--an important part, no doubt, but one part.

I am familiar with Dr. D. I follow 811rv. I just think that its odd that you post this video several times to fight a projection I've not seen on the sight (and I've posted some of meals on the old MAP breakfast thread) as opposed to, say, starting a discussion on whether or not vegans are able to demonstrate strength, endurance, etc.

different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Oh, by the way, what feats are you able to accomplish, airweaver? How have you found changing your diet to help? Just asking in order to get a discussion around a topic rather than an icon.

As for me, I'm no hot stuff, but there is video of me in the 'Member's Workout' thread.

I'm not sure I'm understanding your point. Are you saying he's strong because of his diet or despite it? You're a little frustrating to debate with and have earned the nickname "Drive-by" because of your posting style. You drop in once every so often, post a video of some vegan doing some exercise, then scamper off not to be seen for another couple of months once the debating starts. As far as I can tell, your main argument each time seems to be "because individual X can manage feat of strength/endurance Y, his diet is optimal". You'll have to correct me if I'm wrong there though as you've never stuck around long enough to explain what your reason for posting these videos actually is.

If it works for you - great. You and I must have vastly different bodies though. I consume around 70% of my calories as fat - most of it from animal sources and I find this works best for me. With meat, it's like the majority of all the proteins fats, vitamins and minerals that I'll need are packed into one tasty morsel - minimum effort, maximum reward.

Now that wins the prize for the silliest thing I've read all week. It's so silly I'm going to have to put it in my signature. What next, you can tell I'm skinny because you've cast my horoscope?
