Do you modify kicks?

Someone who is perfectly healthy and in shape will eventually be able to do the jumping spin kicks required for Black Belt, but what if age, past injury or a disability inhibits them from doing them the same way you would expect a healthy 18 year old would do?

Do you modify the technique so they can continue in rank as long as they can safely do the modification?

I have modified jumping kicks for those who can't jump really jump due to past injuries to a hop or skip. So instead of a jumping spinning hook kick I will allow him to hop/skip.

I am curious how others handle this. I am also curious how those who earned their Back Belts at a young age like my self and could trick kick all day long, but later in life has had injuries that no longer allow for that youthful agility?

Jumping kicks aren't for everyone, nor should it be a limitation for advancement.

Of course, ANY method should be modified taking in consideration of the practitioner's physical ability.
