Disability Karate have just contacted me to say they don't receive any support from Karate federations.

    Such a shame.

I've invited them to bring some of their members along to the MAP Meet.

We're planning a Mini MAP Meet in February (the main meet is in June) so would anyone have an objection to donating the profits (after paying for the venue) to the Disability Karate Federation?

The MOD Team have discussed this and our only concern is that they are a small organisation, so it's not like we can affect loads of lives with our donation.

    Your thoughts.

Great idea , and being such a small organisation I'd imagine every penny counts.

    Spot on idea.
I wonder if there's any way to donate maybe equipment or old gi's or belts or whatever?
    Anything to help really.

I could certainly ask that question.

SIMON! Being a smaller organization that has it's own crowd funding page means any little bit will help!. Your idea of donating the proceeds from your meet is bang on! Man! Just to receive some targets or sheilds or belts, anything will help. You just never know what even a small gesture may mean. Run with my friend!

If the profits are donated to a larger organisation which can in theory help more people, then what you have is a small drop in a big pond. By giving to a smaller organisation, it will actually make more of a diffference to them. Although in a sense it will help fewer people, it will probably help them more.

Personally, I'd be very happy for MAP to help the Disability Karate Federation in this way.

I'm of the same view with this one.

Probably going to sound like a hippy with this one, but I think if we can affect any group of peoples' lives positively who could actually do with the help, then it's a plus.

Unless I'm mistaken though, weren't we thinking of doing mini meets a possible twice a year?
