I did know - They are boring affairs that largely consist of gristly meat pies and Rola cola

I just went to one and we all went to the bar afterwards it was great fun

There is no real point in this thread apart to ask people what they think of the jitsu foundation

To me it seems like a solid foundation of jujitsu to build on

I don't like them very much.

I think mostly you'd be better off with judo and BJJ.

they're basically an offshoot of Judo that includes some striking. Their ruleset is very much like BJJ and Judo comps.

Saying that, they are better planned and structured and don't make false claims unlike some other organisations.

    They run great school programs.

    Hey Zaad

it seems to me more like watered down jujitsu.

judo with striking? come on you cant compare judo with TJF!

better planned and structured than judo? disagree!

    you derp hard.

I said its planned and structured compared to other organisation e.g. WJJF
    i wasnt comparing them.
:Aegis: he has trained with TJF for a while.
He said it was an offshoot of Judo with striking in another thread.
That being said the Style itself also considers itself an offshoot. wiki it.

A lot of jujutsu schools go out for social drinking afterwards.

    Think of it as painkiller.

Been to one class in London.. nice enough bunch of people but would agree that the whole thing is build on Judo rules with a bit of striking and weapons stuff thrown in.

The TJF mainly operate out of UK universities, most of the members are students, and the dojos are mainly in student unions. This is why they go to the bar so much. It's not a big issue.

It is mainly judo stuff, but then most jujutsu outside of Japan is a judo off-shoot, including BJJ. For what they do, the TJF are quite good at it, compared to the alternatives (i.e. the other jujitsu organisations in the UK).

This thread is just a promo right? Can't say I think you should promote training on the strength of your socials...

Not really limited to Jujutsu either. We used to all go to the pub after training on a Saturday at Ninjutsu too, lol.

Hmmm, I'm seeing a Japanese theme going here...
