violence still continues across the world because of a cartoon. do any of the recent out breaks of violence change your original opinions?

this thread is only about the cartoons and is not and excuse to spout anti Us, anti Bush, anti war material as it ALWAYS leads to threads being closed.

and that would be an infringement of free speech or human right yes?

with something like 5000 recognised religions across the world it is impossible to respect them all equally unless you dont respect any of them at all.

    My opinion hasn't changed:

    1. The cartoons are stupid, insulting and inflammatory.

    2. Freedom of speech is an important right, which shouldn't be abused.

    3. Those who continue to publish these cartoons in the name of 'freedom of speech' are really just trying to make a quick profit out of the whole sorry situation.

    4. The voluntary refusal by all the newspapers etc. in this country to publish the cartoons is commendable and responsible.

    5. Protesting with violence and destruction is not only wrong but counter-productive. There are more effective ways of registering a protest.

    6. Incitement to religous hatred should apply equally to all faiths, and English law should be changed to bring this about.

    7. Anything else I may have missed.
