The silence is deafening from the crowd that yells "but the Constitution!" when told to wear a cloth mask in a grocery store.
Possibly the best headline I've read recently. (Apart from the homophobic polish MP caught in a 27 man orgy, that obviously wins outright) Manchild Gavin Williamson plumbs new depths of stupidity | John Crace
"we're better than the French", talk about a tired old line, but Belgium? Way to be a total jerk and slam other countries during a time of necessary unity. This is why ultra-nationalists are always a problem, they really don't see other country's citizens as human as they are. It's right back to Us and Them, not a great policy when dealing with a global killer virus that doesn't care.
Scott O'Grady: Trump Pentagon nominee spreads debunked conspiracies and tweets suggesting Trump declare martial law - CNNPolitics Another Trump ally has publicly called for martial law. We're at a turning point as a nation.
I was listening to an expert on 20th Century European fascists the other week, and she had some interesting points on how their supporters are staunchly anti-authoritarian until they get the chance to install their authoritarian in power.
That sounds really interesting, if you remember who it was I'd like to listen to that. It's almost as if people who feel forgotten about, are ripe to be taken advantage of. Thank god trump is as simple in his motivations as he is, with someone more prepared and devious, this could be worse.
This is a fantastic read, and goes some way to explaining the MAGA phenomenon. Christian Picciolini: The neo-Nazi who became an anti-Nazi

US election: Pro-Trump rallies see scuffles in US cities Proud Boys leader visits White House ahead of DC election protests So at what point is this treasonous behaviour?
Oh, we hit the point of treason and sedition already. I think all the representatives and officials who signed onto that Texas lawsuit should be charged with sedition and treason.
The first five minutes of this, has a tremendous calming effect on me. Enjoy, the adults are back in the room.
Agree. I've always thought the job of the Press Secretary was to calmly and collectively answer a barrage of questions, not to argue with and belittle reporters. Past secretaries up through Obama were all playfully defensive but generally nice people. Trump's litany of "enemy of the people" secretaries was a stark contrast. I've never seen that kind of vitriol spewed in the press room, especially towards the end when they started having Fox News personalities in the spot. Those people had no class. McEnany made Sean Spicer look like a zen master. Remember that poor guy? I'll bet he's glad he was early on and probably won't be remembered given all that happened since.
Adults are back in the room: "If you're ever working with me, and I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect, talk down to someone, I promise you I will fire you on the spot. On the spot. No ifs, ands, or buts. Everybody, everybody, is entitled to be treated with decency and dignity." -- Pres. Biden, in a videoconference with his new appointees
So at what point is it ok to wear a red hat, or beige/tan khakis again? Im gonna say at least four more years?
You have some misinformation over there. Tan Khaki's fall into the realm of very cool. Associated with this guy! Where Does Steve Kornacki Get His Election-Night Khakis? He also got a company to donate some to charity. Gap makes khaki donation in Steve Kornacki's name for Giving Tuesday
