Congrats to my son tonight!!!

    Just wanted to share.

    My son received three stripes from his testing on Saturday. He want from yellow belt with no stripes to a yellow belt with three stripes. Both my wife and I are very proud of him as well as his Sensei.

    Cool. I used to take Shotokan karate when I was little in Naperville IL (also near Chicago), and I always got two stripes at my gradings - never managed to get three.

    Thanks everyone! We did get him some ice cream last night for his hard work.

    Hi SilatPupil, he turned 11 in March.

    Hi AZeitung, he had three stripes on his first test, three on his second, two on his third and now three again on his fourth test. He was really hoping for four stripes this time so that he would get his blue belt but I am very happy that he was able to get three and his blue belt should only be a test away now.
