I can't believe people like that make decisions about stuff they know nothing about. It's even less forgivable when you're talking about printers because they have been around for decades. These are the reasons I struggle in retail. Managers are idiots at the best of times.
Britain just made one of the most momentous political decisions of my (and my kids) lifetime and no one knew enough to actually make a proper informed decision. And I include myself in that. People were actually lied to in fact. By contrast someone thinking they know the right printer to buy seems pretty small. One of the perpetual problems of humanity seems to me to be people being falsely certain about something they have no right to be.
ahh the printer arrived..... not a LaserJet like the 3 we speced out for them....it's an inkjet...all-in-on. And it will be put in an area that has no phone connection what-so-ever.... so....
Don't mean to question you, but are you certain it's inkjet? It could be a regional difference, but my ref codes refer to MFP 477 as a colour laser machine? https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-color-laserjet-pro-mfp-m477fdn
WHAT!!!! How DARE you disagree with...oh wait...yeah you're right .....it is a LaserJet...kinda sorta.....it does also have a set of ink cartridges that are somehow for the PageWide printing. Not sure how that works yet..... it is also not even close to what was speced and it has functions, they paid for, that it will never use based on location.
Ah, PageWide Pro?? Like this: https://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=D3Q20B&opt=A80&sel=PRN If so, this is inkjet. I hate HP product codes.
That's what's confusing me. I see LaserJet cartridges and Ink Jet cartridges for this thing. Its the PageWide..... Either way I will likely have to set it up next week and then see what the heck it does.
Still not over...and it gets better.....now they want an ETA on when I will have the laptops they purchased, that I specifically told them not to buy, ready so they can use them. Only problem is...they have not given them to me yet...
Tell them you'll advise them of an ETA as soon as possible. In the meantime, can they provide you with an ETA for the laptops to arrive in your department for configuration, as the department they are to be allocated to is getting impatient. Then get back to him again, letting him know you've chased the department causing the holdup, and you hope to have the situation resolved asap.
Ooooh it got better...... E-mail....the laptops are here, we'll bring them to you they get here....here are the laptops......we will come back Friday to get them, after you set them up.....we will be using them next week My response....you're welcome to stop by on Friday to say hello, but you will not be using them next week. If your lucky, I'll have them done next week. But I have several things ahead of these that need to get done Them; but we need them next week Me; that's nice, we have loaners you can use. When I am done, I will let you know They left...I think they're sad
Next another visit Them: OK next week is fine, we'll get them next week Me: As I said, if you're lucky Them: What!? You said they'd be ready next week Me: No, I said they'd be ready for you next week if you're lucky Them: Silence Me: there are several things ahead of you and 2 of those are deputy commissioner level... I will let you know when they are done. Them: again...leaving looking dejected
