Pendekar Paul de Thouars put out all the Bukti djurus on tape. Might check the Bukti site for them. And Guru Plinck's tape from Paladin Press is pretty good. Steve
You might contact the instructors on the Bukti Negara site. To be honest though, if you are not studying Bukti Negara under a qualified instructor, the tapes will only help minimally. There are many things that are just not seen or felt on the tape. I strongly suggest hooking up with a Bukti instructor. Some instructors that I highly recommend are: Maha Guru Stevan Plinck, Serak & one of the first promoted by the Pendekar. Maha Guru Cliff Stewart, Senior Guru (One fo the most senior in the Art) & chief instructor of the Lost Art of Silat. www.cliffstewart.com If you are already training in Bukti Negara, then your instructor should have the tapes. They have all of the Djuru's.
Hi GuroSadiq, I wish I could hook up with a Bukti Negara Instructor but unfortunately there are none in UK.So the only chance I have is to try to implement some of the techniques from the instructional tapes into my usual martial training. Thank you anyway.
Catman, The only UK person who has experience with this system (That I am aware of) in my mate Tony Felix, who studies the Wali Songo silat with me. I don't think he teaches it per se, although he may do if you ask him (I will PM you his email address). Alternatively you could come and see some of the Wali Songo silat, which wont dissapoint you. Cheers, Wali
Wali is correct. Guru Tony has some Bukti experience with Maha Guru Cliff. I will be with him and Pendekar Steven Benitez in a couple of weeks and can discuss this with him if you wish. Peace!
Cat -- Here's the reply I posted on the newsgroup: The lineage holder for Bukti might able to help -- he's also on the board of directors. I dunno if the email is still good, but it's the most recent one I have: Danny Huybrechts <danizplace@earthlink.net> The tapes are at least nine or ten years old, and the art has evolved somewhat since then; I suspect current Bukti doesn't look the same. It was already different from the tapes when I studied it eight years ago. Guru Plinck's tape was still available from Paladin Press last time I checked. It's more about Djuru One, but it does have a fair number of applications, and works with the more upright stance. You can get it through Amazon.com, U.S. or U.K., I believe. Guru Cliff Stewart, upon whom there is an article in this month's Inside Kung-fu Magazine, teaches a form of Bukti/Serak, and he has tapes, but the link to his page isn't working. According to the article, you can email him at: Cliff Stewart@WAR.com.
Hi Steve, Received your message from Newsgroup with many thanks.I have sent an e-mail to Danny Huybrechts and I'm waiting now for his reply. Thank you again. Catman
Sifu Dave Carnell teaches Bukti Negara Serak and is the UK representative of Cass Magda who learned Serak directly from Paul De Thouras. I recommend him very highly & suggest you contact Sifu Carnell for further info on 01782 823984 also visit his website on www.impactjkd.co.uk
war.com takes you to a rock band not associated with Guru Cliff. His personal style is "W.A.R. - Within Arm's Reach" The website www.cliffstewart.com is working now. There's a contact form on it.
