So...just as everything's getting really good (after recovering from my last set of injuries).... I broke my ankle Monday night after class....One of these years, I'll go without injury! I swear it!
Sorry to hear about the ankle injury.. How many fractures? Be prepared for at least a 3 month recuperation depending on how much damage was done to it.. I broke mine in 4 places in September and went through 5 casts in 6 weeks.. Completely destroyed the ankle joint and now am going to be strip searched everytime I go through airport security because of the amount of sheet metal I have in my ankle region.. (4 screws and 2 metal plates).. Hope you heal quickly and take time as far as training.. Im going crazy with the lack of mobility and functionality of the ankle when it comes to training
Sorry to hear about your ankle. Hope you get better soon. The wheel on your car makes me think it is a mustang. I used to have one of those, and it was very bad in icy weather like we had in MD this week. Heck, I have a front wheel drive volvo now, and I slid all over the place in the parking lot going to class on Saturday. If I had a mustang, there wouldn't have been a car in the lot I didn't hit! So what I'm saying, is it would be hard to blame you for losing control in this weather.
Dang, that's no fun! My poor ankle is bruised up, but healing. Downtime is hell, isn't it? :/ All I can say is do what your doc says, don't put pressure on it, and rest your legs. Ice helps.
Indeed. I recommend a short one-short enough that you don't have to jump to reach, that is. Dropping off a high pullup bar with a bum ankle hurts like the dickens.
Sorry to hear about your ankle. Injuries suck. Best of luck with the surgery. I use injuries as an excuse to eat cake. Feel free to do the same.
Update for everyone: Yesterday I underwent surgery on my ankle. They put two screws in it. Post-op recovery was really hard on me - apparently the anesthetic did not agree with me and I vomited everytime my head moved.
