ROFL - I missed it the first time so I'm glad it was reposted.

I must admit, of all the gay acquaintances and friends that I had in NY (which had absolutely no interest in martial arts back in the '80s and '90s) they're all doing BJJ now.

 

I was just explaining to my preteen daughter why I have rug burns on my knees after "rolling around in the floor with big sweaty dudes" and remembered this thread.

I gotta get some knee wraps. Yikes.

That explains the look that alot of the fighters in Ultimate fighting are giving each other. It looks like they are very much stareing not just looking.

Well something that really annoyed me this weekend was when a family friend found out I did JJJ. She said, oh I know a guy who does JJ and she told me his name. I knew who he was and told her he does BJJ. She said 'No, he does the real Jujitsu, that's what he told me'. :bang: :woo:

 

Woah!! Wrong forum. Don't come in BJJ looking for sympathy!! :woo:

You'll be doing teh BJJ in three years' time, just like everyone does...

Hahahaha Ghost Frog - I actually did try out 2 BJJ classes two months ago and am planning to make time to fit in a casual class or two every fortnight.

I think its great, just that the BJJ'er (well known in Australia) should just get his facts right

I'll never be a full convert to BJJ, JJJ is my poison (weapons, throws, strikes, sparring). None of that in BJJ...

 

Apart from the throws, strikes and sparring, that is.
