Nah, this is a fruit guy's gi!
The worst uniforms in martial arts? My opinion: The RBSD stuff. A bunch of guys wearing tactical uniforms and combat boots. Maybe a t-shirt and/or baseball cap from one gun manufacturer or another.
I think it makes perfect sense to train in that stuff if you're an operator (e.g., a SWAT team member, soldier, etc.) But when Joe Public dons the fatigues to work out in, I have to chuckle.
That said, I'm going to offer the counterpoint to my own argument. (You know, because that's ALWAYS a good idea.)
A uniform serves a couple of different purposes. One of which is to serve as a psychological queue. You put the uniform on and now you're in "training mode." So in so far that the fatigues do that for someone, I'm all for it. If a Heckler & Koch t-shirt gets you mentally where you need to be, and a gi doesn't, then it's just proven its own worth really.
I'm recruiting you for the martial arts babes thread natusmi.
I'm going to have to go with the traditional, non satin/shiny kung fu uniform. Our instructors/Sifu wear those, and the underlings such as myself just wear elastic pants and a tshirt with the federation logo on it (sash as well of course). Easy to work out in, which is important in a uniform.
The Savate Integrale is actually very comfortable to wear when fighting, and is also totally non-restrictive. In general training, there is no requirement to wear anything other than tracksuit bottoms - or shorts - and a T-shirt if you want to. The Integrale is required for competition, however, especially international competition where teams are often kitted out in their countries colours.
This is the design chosen by Team GB for the first ever University World Cup earlier this year. If one of the girls had been Uma Thurman I expect you'd all love the uniform.
We had a French Beauty Queen and former Savate World Champion come over earlier in the year, and she looked pretty good in an Integrale too.
I WISH WE COULD WEAR SOMTHING LIKE THAT
in satin white pants or uniform satin
