Basic Kendo/jutsu

    What are the basic strikes in Kendo/jutsu, if I remember right there were nine, but I could be wrong. Eithere way howmany basic strikes are there and what are they.

    wel as far as I can figure taht are 9 basic cuts one which really isnt a cut, its a thrust.
    Of the other 8 cuts,

    Straight up
    straight down
    left across the body
    right across the body
    diagonally to the upper right
    diagonally to the lower right
    diagonally to the upper left
    diagonally to the lower left

    you follow?
    Now if they have specific terminallogy in Japanese I wouldnt know that as I dont study Japanese sword arts

    Do you mean Kendo or Kenjutsu? One strikes protected areas. The other is designed to attack areas between the armour and is usually done without protection.

    Kendo has three areas to strike and one thrust.
