Bad martial art videos

Thanks Mitch. I was asking just out of curiosity. Still, I would have thought a 1st kyu could get through a lot more than 5 rounds, even if the 5 people were black belts.

 

Shidokan gradings go 3 rounds for the first grading, then 5, then 7 and then 10 for brown belt and above. 2 minute rounds, fresh opponent each time, minimal rest in between. Heavy contact, limited time clinching and groundfighting.
To be honest that's about as hard as it needs to be for me. Looking down the wrong end of having to do a blackbelt grading next it actually looks TOO hard at the moment.

Anyway...going by Mitch's definition of a bad martial arts video (attempting to be good but being bad) here's one by Matt Fiddes. Note in particular the point where he drops his bo, picks it up and then 10 seconds later jabs it into his own groin and nearly drops it again.

Wow - that was an APPALLING demo

"Master" Fiddes??? Really??

 

How that man has earned his success is beyond me.
Just look at how many people he's got watching him. All paying him money.

He actually looks like there's something wrong with his legs maybe? He seems to stumble and have trouble walking in some cases.

what was worse than dropping the stick or hitting himself was turning his back to the guy, kneeling down, holding his staff over head and waiting for his"enemy" to politely strike against his block. Don't people get tired of looking that stupid?

Where to start? Sloppy techniques, overly compliant uke, unrelaistic and potentially dangerous techniques, incredibly crappy MMA/Jits and some moves that make Pro-Wrestling seem unscripted - 0:42 in particular was craptacular beyond belief

 

I knew which bit you meant before I'd even checked the time sig to confirm. That one really lept out at me too... uber bad :cry::cry:

 

I grew up in Mason, OH. It's a town full of young, wealthy white people with more money than sense. I'd love to say I'm surprised to see this in Mason, but I'm not surprised at all. If anyone here is interested in starting an overpriced McDojo, start it in Mason.

EDIT: I particularly like 0:35, a technique for when you're holding a weapon and an opponent grabs you with both hands without paying any mind to the weapon. Personally, if I get attacked by anyone that stupid, I'm going to throw a ball and see if they'll chase it.

I can't decide whether I'm more offended by the irresponsible breaking or the Three Doors Down.

 

I'm offended Demain thinks that he can pass this crap off as legitinate fighting whilst denigrating everyone else

 

This kind of demonstration always made me cringe. I don't care if the guy might actually be really good, it's misleading. 7 attackers? Give me a break! Best bit is at 0.31

What if it was people dressed as wasps? You think it would work then? You could brake their stingers off and use them as sticks.

 

oh my god that bit at 31 seconds... I have no words to sum it up It reminds me of when I was a kid playing video games, and I'd get my ass beat and go "no, no, start again, I WASN'T READY!" xD
