    karate princess Savvy??

Does anybody know of any artists that trap objects inside one and other. It's really difficult to explain what I'm looking for, but that is probably the closest I'm gonna get....

Hm. I seem to be making a lot of threads lately..... :D

nope, Rene Magritte was an abstract artist. I think one of his better know pictures is the man in a bowler suit with an apple instead of a head.

Lots of pictures inside pictures, or random objects inside houses.

funny enough MC Escher was one of the first artists I can remember as a very young child... :D

which led me to the concept of:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Möbius_strip

which has a clever limerick with it:

    "A mathematician confided
That a Möbius band is one-sided,
And you'll get quite a laugh,
If you cut one in half,
For it stays in one piece when divided"

    :D

I loved that sort of art when I was a kid.

Yeah. My first thought was of this German guy I saw on tv, who had got spoons , forks and various other items of cutlery surgically put under his skin. He also had a massive bulge on his head, that he created by putting liquid in through a drip for some reason.

You might want to check out some of the Surrealists, KP, such as Dali, Magritte, Tanguy, Ernst, de Chirico, Arp, Ray, Miro, etc. They tend to do this kind of thing. Plus, surrealism is very good. Warning though, over-exposure to surrealism will make you go crazy!!!!!!!!!!

Shark/Sheep/Cow trapped in formaldahyde (sp?) - Damian Hirst
Chris Ofili's (sp?) paintings often had things trapped between multiple layers of resin. And elephant plop too.

Okay, it's basically artists that restrict freedom. (why didn't I just say that the first time??).

Not totally sure I understand, but this woman had a showing here recently and she paints and makes it kind of 3D with bits and pieces of "Stuff". I thought it very interesting. Anyway her name is Desiree Flerchinger.
