I know there are a few members into riddles and puzzles - have any of you found (and got hooked) on the new monthly magazine Da Vinci Puzzles? I first found it a couple of months ago with October issue and did OK (with the help of some of the 'tips'). It's very addictive because as well as the traditional Crosswords, Codebreaker, SuDuko, SumDuko pages, there is an extra section of puzzles in the middle pages that lead towards a bigger puzzle. These central page puzzles are like nothing I've seen before, and give the brain (OK - my brain) a serious workout. On the inside front cover of that issue was a series of characters that I recognised as morse (I didn't realise it was the full alphabet until I'd found the morse alphabet on the web). Along the bottom of every page - without any indication of fanfare - was 2 or 3 letters in morse code. By the time I'd worked through every page I had an interesting couple of lines of quote or poetry that I have NO IDEA what to do with I did quite well with this issue, but the November one has been driving me crazy. The one good result was that I solved the 16x16 SuDuko puzzle (but had one hell of a headache at the end ) So. Any other fans?
They have a web site! YAAAHHHHH!!! I love puzzles and games that challenge the mind. Some mental exercise while doing my physical exercise. DAMN!!! It's available in the US but it's 42 quid for the 12 monthly issues. OUCH!!! Jang, mind scanning and sendin the pages.
Probably goes against a variety of copyright rules, but I'll pick a couple of examples (that I've got somewhere with to help) and get them on when I get back home. Looks like it's just you and me mate
It drives me mental. Im more of a shoot em up man, but its a great game if you like all types of puzzles, and i mean ALL types.
Last person to say that to me was pregnent 20 seconds later . WOAH! I just made myself sound really crap in bed...
So it is all about fast fat people  Haven't read the DaVinci book or seen the film, so I'll do those before get hold of the PS2 game - but I'll keep that in mind for the future. Not sure of the connection between this magazine and any of the other 'media', but no direct reference is made to the story - I think they're just playing on the sale-ability of the name. I'll scan a couple of the challenges in the next couple of days and see what you make of them. Victoria - following a post that says: it is probably not wise make your next post:
Get your hands on the game mate. I've not read the book or watched the movie HAHAHAHA! I was thinking that, but decided against dragging this thread down futher.
