This has to be posted here, it just has to.
Aikido man in a street fight, gets a nice throw but was owning it anyway.
    Careful there might be swearing.

    FAKE!!!

Aikido doesn't work. Every 14 year old in a Tap Out shirt knows that.

nice knee on belly at the end.

pretty much knew what was going to happen at the beginning. in-shape man against a pudgy little dummy. if i was a betting man, i'd just look at the back fat and wager accordingly.

I wouldn't base a bet according to size and condition, but it was pretty clear the guy in the white shirt could move a bit and had some basic skills.

i thought he had more than just basic skills. i thought he had what i would call a great understanding of the main principles of fighting--the very principles aikido purports to teach. first, evade attack. second, unbalance. third, apply technique. he even added the ol' "aikido is mostly striking" bit to it. yes, pwned.

the only thing i wish is that the white-shirted gentleman hadn't lingered in that area because one of the other guy's mates could've sucker punched him. but overall, the little guy got lucky. if it was me, i would have added a few nice marks to his face at the end, while i had him in knee-on-belly. just to remind him who's boss.

while i hear what you're saying regarding shape bozza, not a good sign to see so much back fat.

I'd be very surprised if he only learned aikido. Mostly because of the reputation it has.

It mentions in the description that he also does karate.

I'm not so sure this is a great advert for aikido. He managed to execute a really sloppy throw, and having watched it a dozen times, it looks like luck played at least as big a part as skill. The guy he was fighting was beyond awful - I don't think I've ever seen someone so aggressive and so clueless before - was he drunk or high? He wasn't even really throwing punches, just waving his arms around and running after the guy.

exactly. I wonder what it would look like if he went head up with someone his own size that really knows how to fight. Not necessarily another martial artist. But someone that really knows how to throw bows.

I liked the step in side kick, I'm not sure if aikido or karate do that, but TKD does that, at least as an intro to a sliding front leg side kick. It was more of a hop side kick but you catch my drift. I liked how he evaded in anticipation of strikes as soon as he threw that heavy hook that missed before his throw.

I would guess he does karate point sparring: low guard; decent footwork; and always in and out with a single attack. None of his strikes seem to have much impact. It didn't seem as though the fight would have ended any time soon if it had stayed standing. The throw was a bit sloppy, but any throw that ends with your opponent on the ground beneath you is a good throw in my books. Neither guy seemed up to much on the ground, but I didn't watch that bit all the way through.

What bothered me was that aikido guy seemed to be the aggressor at the start, and was definitely up for a fight the whole way through.

    Where is 'Westside'?

A search on Wikipedia suggested either Birmingham or the Outer Hebrides. Was he speaking Gaelic, or was there something about his short pudginess which suggested 'Brummie'?

    I need to know.

In a live situation that is what your techniques will look like. They won't be the pretty well executed visually pleasing techniques you get in the calm and relaxed atmosphere of a dojo.

Since we only saw footage from after they had already squared-off, it's impossible to say who started it. It's fair to say though that neither of them seemed to be interested in trying to de-escalate the situation.

So-so. You can execute perfect throws if you've trained for it. Or in my case, get really lucky.

I refer you to any grappling competition video. If you know what you're doing, your techniques should be clean. And the guy who got thrown was blundering forward - he might not have been 'compliant', but he was the next best thing - predictable.

Fair enough. I should have said that I thought aikido guy looked more agressive. I initially thought the other guy would be aikido guy, for that reason.
