Yeah, wood is suboptimal once you've got your technique together. One can generate so much force that wood just can't withstand the impact, and then you've got pieces of sharp wood flying across the training hall. I would look into "Like Steel Wasters" from the AZEA guys: They are nylon wasters with metal pommels and crossguards. Do they make bigger versions of the foam covered arnis sticks? I know they look a bit daft but they are still pretty solid and as my instructor pointed out, leave DIFFERENT bruises than plain rattan. And Koyo, I would be surprised if you couldn't hear me groaning even from this far away ;-) paul
Hi Bear Concert was great. Freakers Ball was the highlight. Chris has had the surgery to his leg and was looking good (well as good as he can) He wants to know the date of your sword seminar in the hope that he will be fit enough to attend.
