Its dangerous when you got a couple of days off from work. And a comfy couch. I literally got to Ep7 thinking I was on Ep 3 and thought...best I get some sleep. It took me a while to get used to Jon Bernthal's Castle. The raspy, Southernlike drawl and the heavy military look, which is good for the character. However, I actually love how they added so much to Micro. Now not a simple fat guy with a computer and contacts...but an actual character with backstory and reasoning to be involved. I quite like how the show is actually quite stand alone. Very loose link to DD2. The show also covers the debate in regards to firearm use/carry in America. Even before all the incidents, I'm sure it was a topic that would've been added and discussed when production was considered for this series.
So, I sort of did it. I started the trial month today and will take a closer look at it tomorrow, I think. And why did I do it? the most logical and expected reason ever! I went to my Doc, because I needed new medication and am also sick for a few days already. And he told me how he liked the new Star Trek, and that Stranger Things is interesting, and that Netflix has this trial month. And how he went for that month, and now has Netflix... So, yeah, I guess I found the perfect Doc for me Now I only need to manage, that my TV goes online wireless as well and not only with that stupid cable! If it only were to find my router
The Netflix trial month is a bit annoying, in that I you have to cancel it a bit before a month to not have it auto renew, but as long as your speed is ok, it's saved me a fortune, plus you can download and watch after wards if needed now.
I read earlier, that you can download them. I think I will look into that as well, so I can watch something on the back from training (towards I usually have a little nap ); I drive long enough for that after all. And I am totally overwhelmed already So many stuff, that could be watched, I have a list already. I think around this time in two years, I might be done. With half of it. Gee, how do people live with that?
Guess again! Lol I've had an hour to kill before, for a spot of 'Netflix and Chill' and 45 minutes later, I was still wading my way through the endless choices, unable to decide what to watch. Travess
I just decided "Enough" after a while, because my plan was to keep watching "Grimm" (on BD actually, not even Netflix, so I did both for at least half an hour ) I found so many things already! Things I considered to buy on DVD/ BD What I didn't find was "The Strain", so I guess some things I need to buy at some point Gosh, so much stuff. I even saw Pokémon was offered And some Lego! Not enough though , but as a start it might work
So, I just watched my first Netflix show/ episode. And as every good nerd would do it was, of course, "Star Trek: Discovery". Well - that and a bit "Kitties clawsaw massacre", with blood and blood stains all behind my couch, because for some reason, my cats got into quite a fight; I certainly hope they get over it again and go back to cuddling each other to death or draining the other in saliva while cleaning each other. Anyway, Star Trek! First impression: I very, very, very, ... like it. I didn't dare to look into it's own thread so far, because I will find the one big spoiler right away, but I will do that, after I watched the show. I also love the intro with technical drawing and science implemented to it. Might ave had me drooling a bit
Finished "Punisher" last night. Wow -- those last 2 episodes are intense, but so well done! ::applause:: My only complaint is how quickly Punisher bounces back from injuries. I don't think a real person could have taken that beating in episode 12, and then entered that fight in episode 13. But this is tv and superhero fantasy, so skipping over that --- this entire season is unquestionably in the top 3 seasons EVER!!! The totality of the writing, the acting, the camera angles, the mood music, is amazing! Everything blends together to perfectly. ::applause:: x 10 !
So far I've watched seven out of the nine Star Trek: Discovery episodes. I don't care, I'm a nerd - I still love it. I'm easy to entertain. But what still remains a mystery to me (big spoiler ahead And yeah, I won't die on my first lie ): How does Tillie manage her hair? I mean, I have really short hair, so I'm missing knowledge in that area obviously. But... In uniform there is only this little knot on her head. And then suddenly - she puts a lion to shame! Red, curly hair everywhere! So much hair can't be put in such a tiny knot, can it? Did I mention that it was like - everywhere?
Just finished the first season, I think it was eight episodes, of "Stranger Things" and really enjoyed it! I should go and see my Doc more often for advice on what to watch. I mean... uhm... because I am sick... The show had an easy start for me, because I like movies, shows, books with kids as characters, as long as they're not only annoying and dumb, but have character (as in: The development is there and they're not only dumb stereotypes), so I didn't mind the slightest kids having a big part in it. (I also liked Dan Simmons "Summer of Night"; read it twice and will read it again, as soon as I have it in English. I think stories can be even more creepy, if they're written from a kid-like perspective without getting childish. But that doesn't matter right now ). I admit, the idea isn't too new and I had to think "Silent Hill" quite often, but couldn't care less since I love the series (aside from "The Room". That was a disappointment). Not sure how new the light idea was, since I have a strong feeling to have seen it before used in a very similar way, but I don't remember where. But we live in times where nearly everything was already there in one way or another, so that's not really something you can judge things by. I had fun watching the show, I liked the characters and the actors and I really am looking forward to continue watching the show!
Getting into Snowfall that's been showing on BBC2. Very good! Peaky Blinders, good but perhaps not as much going on as previous seasons.
Just starting pointing my face at 'The Punisher' over on Netflix - I know I'm late to the party, but I was away on holiday when it dropped. I'm 3 or 4 episodes in and I am absolutely sold. For me, it easily, so far, ranks up there with 'Daredevil' and 'Jessica Jones' ('Luke Cage' and 'Iron Fist' are very much second tier for me).
Vikings, as always awesome Just got into Nightfall. I like it Walking Dead can go to hell. As of now anyway My wife is having me watch Last Kingdom. Kind of boring to me
I'm really struggling with Peaky Blinders. Although Tom Hardy is kinda doing his Bane by way of Kray Bros voice.
I didn't mind the 1st season. It could be because I am a fan of Sam Neill. But his accent is amazingly diabolical. (An Irishman's Irish accent!) He's gone full Joey Tribianni / Liam Neeson.
Finished the first season, "Murder House", of American Horror Story yesterday. And started the fifth season, "Hotel". (I watched the other seasons at a friends). I liked "Murder House", but the first episode of "Hotel" was rather disappointing. The first time, I didn't wonder what would come next but more "Meh". Well, started the second episode, maybe it'll get better.
