God, this makes me feel old... Guitars of various sorts for 31 years this year. And I've been singing and writing my own songs for 31 years too. I played violin for 3 years or so when I was a kid, and I've recently started to try to reconnect to the violin. Ukulele for a year or so (I used to play some uke 20 years ago too). And yes, I read an write notes as well.
Bagpipes...I play Brian Boru pipes, (an Irish version of the Greater Highland Pipe.) In addition, I have gotten into Gaida as well, (Bulgarian bagpipes.) Aaron Fields
Good heavens! The man plays keyed chromatic pipes! ( A variation of Highland war pipes which are themselves a descendant of Irish war pipes). Cool!
I play the guitar (for about ten years, though I'm not anywhere near as good as I should be!) and I'd love to play the piano and harmonica as well
When I was 6 my parents made me learn piano. I was forced to learn it for about 10 years. Never really enjoyed it. 5 years ago I started playing guitar...I love it. But now I'm starting to appreciated the piano a little more too.
Played classical guitar for a few years but stopped a couple of years back when my guitar teacher moved away
Bleh. I hate that. My harp teacher moved back to Ireland after her boyfriend dumped her. No one else in the area that I like. *sigh*
Just picked the bass up for the first time in a couple of years out of boredom so I'm back at learning Smoke on the Water. How long until I attempt The Clansman again? EDIT: Hmmm, roughly 45 minutes after picking up the bass I'm remembering Toxicity (SYOD) and The Clansman (Iron Maiden) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaJKDYZ-n38"]YouTube - The Clansman[/ame]
Other, Haven't excelled at it - that'd take another 10-20 years or so if i'm lucky The Uilleann Pipes (Irish pipes)
Praise be! Someone who will understand the humor when I use tune titles from the traditional repertoire. By the by,your catagory isn't "other"-pipes of all stripes are woodwinds.
