I'm not sure if you meant this only as a superficial comparison, but this is not "evolution" as in phylogenesis. There can be some epigenetic changes (characteristics you may gain in your life) that are passed on to the next generation, but if I'm not mistaken, those would generally not last longer then a few generations. In other words, evolution is not that you pass on the characteristics you gain throughout your life, but the genes you got from your parents that don't change based on your "experience". There are mutations that would occur with every person, but those are random, they would mix the DNA code, but not based on how you, let's say, work in a gym and adapt to a heavier load...

To put it simply, evolution is not something that occurs within an organism, but between generations. Also I'm not sure how you would improve your "fitness" (in the evolutionary sense) by becoming well adapted and more skilled at lifting. But perhaps I just misunderstood what you meant by "fitness".

The biggest reason people have issues with evolution and the changes that occur is that the human brain has a really hard time coping with the timescale....I mean in this thread alone someone mentions "7,000 years ago" as ancient- in evolutionary terms that is a not even a second

In what way? I'm not saying I have perfect knowledge (or I might have forgotten something since I learned this stuff). If I'm wrong, I'd be happy if you could explain what you mean :)

The woodpecker thing really confused me. Birds dint kill themselves by pecking on trees... just some were more adept to pecking at trees for grubs and therefore survived better than those who weren't (and passed on those genes at a higher rate)

the actual idea of having a species i think is the min problem in communicating biology - species aren't natural categories, they're something we made up to classify stuff. many species can interbreed.

I recently went to a presentation on coral fossils in the coral triangle (indonesia) and they talked about how DNA evidence showed so much variation and overlap between what they considered morphologically different species (they have different physical charateristics) that they couldn't use DNA to classify those species).

It's a very complex thing and scientists aren't even in agreement of what a species is.

I give up to God. I give up to Heavens. I realized I am talking too much.

EDit: I am not social, so I dont call anyone brother normally except my blood brother. I hope you understand Iron Fistk but I and him are not fighting. He called me brother, in a heart warming way, we could "train" together though. (But I am under the governments care now as Asperger and they dont allow me to do MA, but I can talk privately). Peace :)

    What?

    Who doesn't let you train?

Since when is Aspergers grounds for denying someone taking part in such things?

The law. They don't want me to get to the gym, MA or weights, because I would become "dangerous". They have me under compulsion. ... But seriously, i got PTSD and can't manage. I was diagnosed late.

I am not sure. I live in a house with two people from the health department. If the plan works, i will get out 2016 and get a support and will be free to do MA. But they have reduced me, instilled fear in me.

    I'll be blunt.

I'm having trouble believing you. What you have described has to contravene the Human Rights act in someway not to mention a host of other legal issues with regards to inclusion.

He's already said he's assaulted someone, and wanted to hurt a previous teacher, so maybe it's a mental health inpatient thing, or maybe an asbo type thing.

If its mandatory treatment due to criminal action, its not insane to not allow people with violence problems access to martial arts.
