Wee Kee Jin: Fajin in Slow Motion

Wee Kee Jin moves in slow motion all the time but now the other guy does, too.

Sorry but perhaps could you add some explanations of what you are posting, what you think about it and why?

23rd Wave - this is a forum for discussion. Simply posting videos with no commentary or analysis is frowned upon. What are you looking for from the forum members?

He explains what he's doing in the videos. How could I explain it better? And, typically, people of lesser skill call it fake. Perhaps they should explain it and enlighten us all.

Cool. Now let's see him do it in a fight, or actual physical altercation where someone doesn't let him do it.

Typically, people of lesser intelligence buy into this nonsense because it makes them feel better about their own short-comings.

But hey, just watching the first couple of videos:

    1st clip:
    • 1:10 - You can see the patsy push himself backwards off of the con-man's arm

    2nd clip:
    • 0:29 - Watch patsy's lower back, you can see him make himself bounce backwards
    • 0:52 - Again, you can see patsy bounce himself backwards
    • 0:56 - Watch the point between patsy's shoulders as he throws himself backwards

All demonstrations are compliant or they wouldn't be demonstrations. There is nothing being faked in these videos but at the same time nothing revolutionary is going on either. But I still like it. That's why I posted it.

There is certainly a lot of fakery about these videos. The patsy is overacting the effects of the con-man's 'skill' in order to make 'master' appear to have skills that he does not have. Whether this is for 'master' to save face, or whether to extract more cash from the sheeple in the audience, or (more likely) a mixture of both.

That's the point. The opponent pushes himself away. This is Internal Martial Arts 101.

I seriously hope he's not charging people who will then rely on this strategy.

When 'internal' arts talk about the opponent defeating themselves, they are not literally meaning that the opponent throws themselves over, or punches themselves in the head. It is that their greater force is rediverted so that it is harmless to the IMAist, who then users a lesser force to defeat the opponent from a point of relative safety.

What is your personal experience with arts such as Taijiquan? How long have you trained?

And, actually, in the first clip, the 'master' explicitly says that HE is emitting force that caused the patsy to bounce back. However, YOU have just confirmed that patsy is bouncing himself back.

These videos offer nothing but falsehood.

    Err no.

There are levels of resistance that can be used during a demo.

And you're a taiji guy? If that's your reaction you should take up golf.

Why not listen to what he's saying and showing and stop focusing on the partner. It's a demo not a fight.

    It's a demo.

Would you say the same thing if I posted a Freddie Roach video?

Why not counter my arguements, instead of making side-swipe attacks?

Why focus on what he is saying, when his body is telling me all I need to know?
As you should know, 'taiji' is the INTERACTION of opposing forces, so how can I NOT pay attention to both parties??? What I can see is that 'master' is doing nothing, however 'patsy' is visibly exerting energy to create an effect, and then crediting 'master' with the results.

I have trained guang ping yang taiji for 15+ years and han shi yi quan for 2. It has only been since I started the yi quan training that I have begun to understand this stuff. There are plenty of bad taiji players out there and a number of charlatans but Wee Kee Jin isn't one of them.

These videos don't support that assessment.
