Now the reason why I called this thread Hunt vs JDS, is because this is the fight I am THE most excited about! A fan of Hunt during his Pride FC days (I actually havent seen many of his K1 fights). I would love to see him KO JDS into the upper tiers. My analytical brain will say that JDS will try and get it to the ground when he can or when he gets in trouble. Not like when he fought Cain in the rematch. But yeah.... #Hunt4Champ Having a glance of the card, it seems to be a great card, full of fighters I like! (except George Roop...:ban Main cards are all big punchers and strikers! Cerrone and Noons is going to be a good ol' MT match Heres the card.. Cain Velasquez (c) vs. Antonio Silva Junior Dos Santos vs. Mark Hunt Glover Teixeira vs. James Te Huna Gray Maynard vs. TJ Grant Donald Cerrone vs. K.J. Noons Preliminary card (FX) Mike Pyle vs. Rick Story Dennis Bermudez vs. Max Holloway Colton Smith vs. Robert Whittaker Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Abel Trujillo Preliminary card (Facebook) Stephen Thompson vs. Nah-Shon Burrell Brian Bowles vs. George Roop Jeremy Stephens vs. Estevan Payan [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8t_G7XHfIvc"]Countdown to UFC 160: Velasquez vs. Bigfoot 2 - Full Episode - YouTube[/ame]
Looking forward to Cerrone. He looked so out of it against Pettis and he's admitted to seeing a sport psychologist since. Hopefully that helped. Cool, fun card overall. Should be good.
That is a good card. My heart says Mark Hunt but my head says JDS will be too much even for "The Super Samoan". Another Mark Hunt walk away uppercut KO would be the stuff of legends.
Dos Santos has excellent boxing skills, he could be the HW boxing champion. However his stand up is one dimensional as showed in his last fight against Valasquez. Santos also has excellent take down defense from what I've seen although I haven't seen what he can really do on the ground. Hunt has good power but is one dimensional. I think Santos can outbox him and/or take him down. So i'm going with JDS.
Ah, I forgot to update this thread Anyhoo, a really good event. I was really rallying for Hunt, but it was not meant to be with that spinning kick and apparently Hunt's foot blew up. Not making excuses for Hunt but due to his visa issues he only got off the plane 3 days before the fight. Meaning he took a long flight from Australia to Vegas, whilst in "weight cut" mode and was possibly Jet lagged. Either way, still a good performance. Cain v Big Foot went as expected, although Bigfoot is now making allegations of back of the head strikes were to blame. Looking at the slow motion, it was 10 unaswered strikes to the side. My 2nd favourite fight was Cerrone and Noons. MT vs Boxing essentially. However I didnt realise it was Noons' UFC debut! So that was a long time off as well, especially for a former Strikeforce guy. and one final shout out... Nurmagomedov suplexing for the wins! (20 - 0 now?)
