For those on this thread who said Trump was not anti-GLBT, here are a couple of articles listing how the Trump administration has taken multiple active steps against the GLBT community. I just quickly googled a couple articles that list them in one place. And a couple of articles about his big moves against GLBT people the last couple of days. But you can research the issues individually if you don't trust the source and see that these are indeed true things he has done.

So, what do you all have to say about this now that the facts have proven me right on this matter? Holding a Pride flag meant nothing! I tried to tell you.

Six months in and the best you can say for this administration is it's too incompetent to get anything done.

I can't tell if it's that Trump and his staff are too incompetent to get things done, or if the Republican Party as a unit is too incompetent to get things done. Case in point, for all those years when Obama was president the Republican Party as a unit was screaming, "We're going to repeal Obamacare the first chance we get !!! Die die die die die !!!" But in the last six months they've refused to pass a repeal what, three separate times now? I think it was three times now in six months. (shrug) Trump has problems but that one is not on him, and that's why I want to blame the Party as much as the individual. (shrug)

Aikimac, IIRC you were big into the boy Scouts, What did you make of Trumps speach to the scouts?

Did you think it was morally straight?

I only heard sound bites, not a complete speech, but what I heard were pointless and lame political comments that had no place at a Jamboree.

Yeah, I think it's a combination of the two. In another world, I can imagine a President who unifies his party, reaches across the aisle for comments, and puts forward a considered and thought out bill, but that's not the world we live in. The amount of sheer just... idiocy on the part of this government is just stunning.

A primary school teacher told me the other week that some of the kids have started using "Trump" and "Donald" as pejorative nouns.

    "You're such a Trump!"

    "Stop being a Donald!"

These kids are from an impoverished area, too. Not middle class kids getting it from their lefty parents.

    Typical British sink estate.

Social housing on the edge of the city, 3 generations of unemployment, not many kids have books in their house and their parents aren't avid watchers of the news.

Funnily enough , my 11 year old son was watching youtube videos this afternoon and the "youtuber" was using Trump as a derogatory term for characters in the game he was playing.
Maybe this is where these kids are getting it from ?

A few hours ago Donald Trump tweeted that there was no Whitehouse chaos. Now he's fired Scaramucci his communications director.

I know! That and the movie "Scaramouche"! Which happens to end with an amazing sword fight, by the way. I was yelling at the radio people to pronounce it correctly until I saw his name in print ... and then I felt very silly.:eek::(

All the people that said not to judge Donald Trump before he was actually president....can we judge him yet? Because...you know...he's kinda throwing out signals that he might just be the worst president there's ever been right?

I feel like if he carries on his term as it has so far he'll just go down as a "meh" president. Listening to him talk is scary, but listening to him talk is what got him elected. I don't feel like, as a country, America cares about the environment so leaving that agreement isn't going to mar him much. As a country, America gives the impression it agrees with his all stick "oorah we have bombs USA USA USA" approach to international relations. He's had failures in terms of healthcare reform and his wall but those can be passed away as Democrats fault and a failure to carry out a policy isn't really something I think the average citizen of any country cares about because it just means life stays the same.

Unless something happens in his reign that actually negatively effects Americans noticeably and directly I think he'll just be another guy who was President.

I can't help but disagree with that Southpaw. Even if simply because his tweets are such an obvious and enduring sort of legacy, he'll be remembered as a caricature of a person, quite possibly emblematic of the corporate excess of the era. Add to that such obvious international blunders as he's been making, the lingering suspicion of criminal wrong doing, the naked corruption and nepotism, and the timing of this whole thing, well, I think he'll easily make the list as one of the worst. Think about his disastrous environmental policy, based more on suppressing science than addressing it, being brought in during a time in which the entire world got together to address global warming, his retreat from the international sphere as America is losing its status as the sole world superpower, and well, I think you've got the making of a historically awful president.

Yet he beat the Clinton family, even when DNC power brokers rigged the primary to make sure she'd be the candidate. (shrug) My country is so strange, that sometimes when I turn on the radio and hear the news, I truly feel like I'm living in a dream world.

Ya, I'm with Southpaw on this one. Trump is "that" bad only to half the voters, he's "meh" to the other half of the voters, and the non-voters don't even care who is President. They don't even care.

I really doubt that he'll be remembered for his victory over Hilary Clinton - tbh, reading American History, very rarely is much detail provided about who Presidents ran against, but much is about their time in office. Maybe a sentence or two about it in the textbooks, but I doubt more than that. In six months, we've alienated allies, we have a nuclear power threatening strikes against US soil, and our intelligence agencies have confirmed that there was an attack against the American electoral system. These things strike me as having more of a ramification on history. I'm left hoping that he's a lame duck, meh, POTUS, but I think that betting on that is placing money on some long odds. We've got three and a half years left, and I'm guessing things get more interesting before they get less.
