LOL! That is funny. The owner and coach at my boxing gym was a 2-time state champion. He has a professional record of 12-7. I suppose that counts more than a long nap.
Just had a fantastic afternoon training with John Titchen. Helping the Karatekas face a boxer, witnessing a young lad pass his purple and white belt and getting some new lumps and bumps where body parts once were. So there.
And next Sunday I'm going to @Dan Bian's Tai Chi class. I'll also be catching up with @chatter box So there.
This one is for El Medico specifically - LOL! Grandmaster Doc-Fai Wong comes down for seminars every year. I have been literally begging Tai-Sifu to use his influence to learn a particular Tai Chi Chuan double fan form for YEARS. FINALLY, the announcement came out and it is being taught this year! There are very few new TCC forms I really want to learn at this point. I think I know more forms than most people and more than enough to hone my skills the rest of my lifetime. The only exceptions are a couple of forms that teach me something new. The small circle fast frame form of Yang TCC. I have been promised that I can learn this as my reward for passing my next CLF test. And a form or two that just look like so much fun and so cool to me. This form is one of those. After all, I do MA's for fun. I think it is both beautiful and cool because you can see the actual application in most of the moves. Even the flashy opening and closing, because we are taught that those are closed pokes in actual application. Also, I am not supposed to really be doing TCC right now. I am trying to get ready for my next CLF test (black sash). And I swore I would not even learn any new CLF forms that aren't what I need to know for that test. But this form was the exception. The chance to learn it after waiting so long. I just have to do it! I fell in love with it watching this clip below. Here is another clip. (I am not posting this to advertise. Just to share. You have to be a member of the Plum Blossom Federation to attend. So, as far as I know, only one other person here could go if they wanted to. And he already gets notifications about it elsewhere.) So, I get to learn a LONG desired form from GM Wong. So there! And El Medico- double so there!
I just had a healthy lunch..so there.....wait...umm...rats... I was never any good at this type of thing
