Please accept the apologies of the MAP staff, but the Ninjutsu forum will be closed for the next two weeks. Due to staff shortages, and the fact that the Ninjutsu forum requires the most moderation of any of the topic fora, the decision was made to suspend activities for a fortnight to allow the overworked moderators time to catch up with other forum responsibilities.
Actually Frodocious I can now publicly announce something which has been kept confidential for the last few days. After secret conversations, secret even from the majority of the moderation staff, I have been appointed to the role of Topic Moderator for the ninjutsu subforum and thus the staff shortages are solved. My first act in this role is to request a full pardon and amnesty for all those on the banned list, followed by the merging of the MMA and Wing Chun subforums. Finally I have petitioned Saz to expand the profanity filter to include the term Historical Ninjutsu Research Team. However as her reply was along the lines of "Who are you, how did you get this number?" I'm not sure these requests will meet with success. Nevertheless I look forward to working with you and Dave, my new colleagues
This is a great idea. Gives some of the cyber ninjas a rest and force them back into the real world. Who knows they may make some real friends outside their moms basement
1) I didn't think we had exhausted all the soft approaches yet? I thought this option was a last resort not something to pull out the bag just because Frodo wants a rest. 2) It looks like we haven't turned it off anyway. I know MAP technical issues aren't unheard of but it shouldn't be hard to make less stuff work.
I would like to volunteer for a topic mod position.. I guarantee within a week to have banned all trouble causers, including myself. Problem solved.
This should be fun... We OWN off-topic!:jester: MAP Headline April 2, 2011: "Please accept the apologies of the MAP staff, but the General & Off-Topic forums will be closed for the next two weeks. Due to staff shortages, and the fact that the Ninjutsu forum regulars have launched vicious collateral damage assaults from their mom's basements upon these two areas, the decision was made to suspend activities for a fortnight to allow the overworked moderators time to catch up with other forum responsibilities."
Oh no, it's much worse than that... One might start with "Okay, it's kinda hard to explain so bear with me... I'm actually a Samurai who fled to the mountains after (insert conflict) where I trained in mystical arts that were passed down to us by mythical Tengu..." :jester:
Is there any merit would you think in creating a subforum of the Ninjutsu forum called, and as, "The place to debate the Takamatsuden Arts"? All arguments about, well, anything could be moved THERE for endless endless debate that eventually goes nowhere as it's usually locked, and also that contains Matthew Hopkins tags. The actual forum itself can be for people discussing the martial art in a "blimey that Ura Gyaku's hard isn't it?" "Yeah took me ages mate." sort of way, and newbies to Ninpo/Takamatsuden Arts can feel free to post and ask the beginner questions which WILL be obvious to some and CAN be solved by a Google BUT which might merit a kindly opinion or two, and not get shot down by people already pre-heated from tearing each other off a strip from sometime-disgraced Shihan X or Indie school Y and their Taijutsu videos. Could have a strict "if you can't say something nice don't say anything" policy for the top forum itself, sorta switching over situations from the newbies thread we have which is buried a little. And whatever happened to that plan of me moderating any arguments that came up with gratuitous boob pictures? I was keen on that. Also it's been a while since we had any REAL crazies who thought they were ACTUAL ninjas come along. Someone try and recruit a few for giggling because those threads give us all a chuckle.
A thread isn't a thread until Mr. Hopkins shows up, lol. And whatever happened to Ninjuries' emergency measures? :jester:
