Since I actually got up in the morning for once and the thought of the movie attracted me to the thread I figure I'll post. Egg rolls and sweet tea.
Sorry for the brief hijack. I heard this wasn't such a great idea. The reason given to me was that it dilutes the stomach acid and therefore makes digestion less effective. I've no idea if there's any truth in it, however. Maybe someone who knows more can shed some light on this?
I haven't a clue tbh. All I know is I get terrible dehydration when I wake up and don't function till I've had at least 2 pints of water. I had the litre before breaky and the half after. I swear my sleeping technique is faulty, my pee could dissolve glass when I wake. I know a competitive eater who drinks as much water as he can handle after every meal pre comp to stretch his stomac wall, handy if you're struggling to eat enough. I have to say it makes sense, but then would milk (which is alkili) be mouch worse? I can't say I've had any issues.
It could all be a load of rubbish, to be honest. I was just curious if anyone else had a more informed opinion.
7 scrambled eggs mixed with salsa and bacon pieces (real bacon), and seasoned with a little garlic salt and rosemary.
The thread lives again! Well, I had a fifteen banana smoothie (not much has changed with me), which works out to the following: Nutrition Summary for June 29, 2011 General (48%) Energy 1581.5 *kcal 51%* Protein 19.4 *g 25%* Carbs 405.9 *g 61%* **Fiber 46.2 *g 122%* Fat 5.9 *g 17%* Water 1331.2 *g 36%* Vitamins (67%) Vitamin A 1137.3 *IU 38%* Folate 355.4 *µg 89%* B1 (Thiamine) 0.6 *mg 46%* B2 (Riboflavin) 1.3 *mg 100%* B3 (Niacin) 11.8 *mg 74%* B5 (Pantothenic Acid) 5.9 *mg 119%* B6 (Pyridoxine) 6.5 *mg 502%* Vitamin C 154.6 *mg 172%* Vitamin E 1.8 *mg 12%* Vitamin K 8.9 *µg 7%* Minerals (58%) Calcium 88.8 *mg 9%* Copper 1.4 *mg 154%* Iron 4.6 *mg 58%* Magnesium 479.8 *mg 114%* Manganese 4.8 *mg 209%* Phosphorus 390.9 *mg 56%* Potassium 6361.7 *mg 135%* Selenium 17.8 *µg 32%* Sodium 17.8 *mg 4%* Zinc 2.7 *mg 24%* Lipids (11%) Saturated 2.0 *g 10%* **Omega-3 0.5 *g 30%* **Omega-6 0.8 *g 5%* Cholesterol 0.0 *mg 0% paz, dormindo
YUM! Going to have something similar tomorrow after reading that! Scrambled egg tip; put a clove of garlic on the tip of a fork, it adds a lovely seasoning and stops the pan getting all scratched up.
Half a cold chicken BBQ pizza with Mayo, 2 ham and salad sandwiches, 4 eggs scrambled with 4 chopped up sausages in, 5 fish oil, 1 multiple vit, 1000mg of vit C 1500ml of water.
it was a struggle by the end, just tucking into the other 4 sausages from the pack now before i head to the gym. Plus it was the end of a fast, so it was about 1 o'clock (had fasted from 9pm the night before) so i needed to eat a lot.
Just to bring this one back to life and to share the fab breakfast I just had 1 dessert spoon porridge 1 dessert spoon ground almonds A few drops of almond essence Half a dozen dates, chopped in half A good glug of milk 4 minutes in the microwave then sprinkle with a dessert spoon of flax seed and stir it all up. I've also made it with dried apricots (usually soaked overnight in water to soften them) and that's delicious as well. Go try it folks, it's fab! Mitch
That used to be a Brit squaddy ration pack special - only it was the hot chocolate from the pack no 2 with instant porridge - bloody awful but in the field you will eat anything.
Two tuna steaks grilled with Herbs d'Provence infused olive oil. Pint of tea, glass of grapefruit juice.
Nice to see this thread still going. I've had an abso crap diet as of late. Double coffee's as a breakfast. Oof. Not good.
Rolls, bagels, cereals, low fat bran muffins, crackers, or Melba toast. Low fat protein such as peanut butter, lean meat, poultry or fish, or boiled eggs. Dairy like milk, yogurt and low-fat cheeses, such as cottage and natural cheeses. This breakfast will provide you complex carbohydrates, fiber, protein and a small amount of fat
Zombie thread alert! Though no, I shan't be having brains for breakfast. Tomorrow is crumpet day for the kids. Toasted crumpets, more butter than is good for you and maybe a little strawberry jam. I'd be a fool not to join them, wouldn't I? Mitch
