I mean how are these 2 people still standing? They should've been knocked out dead long ago!
I've seen fights but this is the one I've had most fun watching, with both hit and dodged strong beautiful high and low kicks, blocks, knock downs, head hits, but the thing that got me the most is their ability to TAKE a massive kick to the face and keep fighting.
I can learn so much from them, the stability, stamina, the focus, the sharpness and the force.

It's not taekwondo and I'm not convinced it's a fight rather than some CMA WWE nonsense.

Can someone explain to me the logic behind having fighters wear chest protection and shin pads but no gloves and no head gear?

You can see both gloves and head gear in some of the fights in the World Championships I posted. I don't know if there are different regs for men and women. I didn't see shin guards in any of those fights. Just out of interest, didn't boxing stop athletes wearing head guards for amateur fights in the last few years since there was some evidence that head guards may not offer real protection?

The OP's post was probably some particular event with it's own rules (mma gloves, chest protector, ? box? ) (but I'm not sure).

Pretty sure the first video was just a hard demo. I'm fairly certain that the current Sanda rules are gloves, shin pads, head gear and body protector.

Agreed! The techniques are way to sharp to be more than a demo...and neither participant seem to put up much in the way of defence, unless there's a perfect counter to the defence after.

Edit. Or it's some fake thing as Holy said.

This format is popular on Chinese TV for some reason after the rise of a show 10 years ago called Wushu Master (which is what this fight is from).
You see this format on old footage from rural schools in the early 80s, so I'd suggest it's origins lie in lack of equipment.

    1. This is highlights of multiple fights. Notice change in referrees and hairstyles of refs and fighters.
