Hey, any idea what the strongest heat cream is called?

I got one from a past muay thai instructor years ago which was pretty good, had thai writing on it but not the same as the usual yellow linament you see.

Sort of white/grey box and yellow it came in.

He said there was one even hotter than that.

Out of interest how good is dit da jow?

If you want a strong cream, try 'wintergreen' muscle rub. Haven't needed to use it in a few years thankfully, its bloody hot, but its a good cream.

Mueller Hot Stuff... cheap, about £8 for a pound tub. Made out of chilli.

I've always used this. Its a combination of Eacalyptus oil, Capzasin (?), and Other components. It is marketed as an Arthritis treatement and last for at least 10 hours. Seems to be water activated so I would recommend avoiding water, especially hot tubs:evil:

I found it in the end its just called boxing cream, comes in a white/yellow box. Pretty effective stuff, going to check out the suggestions in this thread at some point though.

Started trying to use ice more often as well.

Dit da jow has many, many, varieties..some are just for bruising, some are for sore muscles, some for strengthening bone(Impact areas), and some are a combination. I wouldnt buy any that is just called dit da jow, without any explanation of the type.

edit*- I use Zeng gu shui certainly not the strongest, but it works for me.

I'm a fan of McTarnahan's Hot Pink Lotion. It's made for horses but it's perfectly safe to use for people.

Yeah, this stuff is OC spray in a rub form. Plus it has the advantage it doesn't have that distinctive smell like all the other ones around.

I got some after your recommendation LFD. Thanks for that.

You may have saved my shins and calves Kuma. I would hug you if I could. Even against your will.

For some reason, even though I live in farm country, nobody here has ever heard of this product. I've taken to answering by saying in my friendliest hello voice, "Hi! (pause) I'm looking for your hot pink lotion..." The guys are all shocked and alarmed, and the women all find it hilarious. The guy at Ranch and Home tried to transfer me to clothing, and I pretended to be indignant, saying, "It's a horse product! What do you think I meant?!" This is the highlight of my day.

It's really strong stuff, I think you'll like it. Just don't get it on your bits, that sucks a lot.

Napalm works well for me :p

"Tiger Balm" (Red) and "Axe Brand Oil" are quite good IMO.

Also, the "Tiger Balm" medicated plasters (Red) are great too, they keep giving for 8 hours or so.

I ended up ordering it from http://www.bigddoghouse.com/ for 12.75 for 1 pt. Not a bad deal for a hot cream. If it's too hot I'll just cut it down with other lotions. That price per unit far exceeds anything you're going to get in human products on a budget.

Any chance of getting a list of the ingredients for the Hot Pink Lotion? Couldn't see it online and I wonder what it contains. I know that in the 70's DMSO (horse liniment) was popular but there were lots of dangers associated with what you stored it in (it absorbed chemicals from the plastic bottles some people kept it in and would transfer that into you).

I have always found capsicum based liniments to be the hottest but it's hard to always find what's in stuff, particularly when it comes from the far east. There was a time when I was in China that some of the best stuff contained western anti-inflammatories (very strong and potentially dangerous) and they were not listed...).

    Just wonderin'

    Thanks

That's a decent price, John, you can sometimes find them a bit cheaper but usually with shipping that's about what you'll end up paying.

    Here's the label:

    Thanks Kuma!!

For comparison purposes.. Muellergesic which is the milder of the 2 rubs I use is 13.7% Methyl Salicylae and 1.9% Menthol. Hot Stuff which is REALLY hot has 4.95% Capsicum (most of the rugby players can't handle the heat this produces). Both sell to physios at ~ £10.00 shipped for a 1 pound (453gm) tub. Since both are in a paraffin/petroleum base they stay exactly where you put them which can be important if you are worried about your mucous membranes :' S.

Enough advertising.. just always have used something along this line since I played American football as a schoolboy.

The Hot Pink has 2.8% Methyl Salicylate, 0.6% Camphor and 0.6% Menthol. Would be interesting to see how the two compare.

Curious how this compares with Namman Muay...the Thai style massage oil that is so common in Muay Thai... not so sure I'd want the Capsicum version. Ugh. I like chilli... but generally on my plate not on my body. :p I also doubt it'd be allowed per fight rules as well.
