2 to 4 inches of snow expected today with wind chills between -10 and -35
Luckily I am far north of the center of this storm. NYC is getting hit with 8 to 10 inches and 50mph winds
Boston, my old stomping grounds is getting hit with 10 to 14 inches and 50mph winds.

There's something wrong when (1) sharks wash up on shore, frozen to death, and (2) cities cancel their annual "Winterfest" celebration because it's too cold outside, in the winter.

Ya, last count I heard was 4 sharks washed up on the Massachusetts coast, frozen to death. And the city of Saint Louis, Missouri cancelled it's New Year's Eve "Winterfest" celebration because it was too cold outside.

I dunno -- can we blame global warming for frozen sharks?

Well, you could, but I do not want to make this into a Global warming grudge match thread so I will leave it at that.

From what I read they were all thresher sharks and they died of cold shock when the surface water off of the Cape reached 41F. Thresher sharks become impaired if the water temp drops below 44F. AT 41F the die and wash ashore and due to low temps as you get closer to shore, freeze...as for Missouri..... the only thing I will say is that I do not think the sharks had anything to do with it :D

    Poor sharks.

It seems like we pretty much have had our winter weeks ago, when he had snow for a few days.
It's a bit cold here, but nothing bad actually.
